Jones selected as new Head Football Coach

Alcorn State, MS — Alcorn State alum Ernest Jones (’95) was selected as the 17^th Head Football Coach. Jones who was part of the 1994 SWAC Championship Team stated that he would try to restore championship status to his alma mater. Upon being introduced as the new coach, Jones assured the Alcorn faithful that he would do his best to recruit within the state of Mississippi and go out to every high school in Magnolia State . When asked whether or not he would keep the current coaching staff, he replied “I will evaluate the staff and determine that later.” Prior to accepting the Head Coaching position at the Academic Resort, Jones was the Running Back Coach at the University of Cincinnati.
