Buckley Named SWAC Offensive Player of the Week

Alcorn State, MS—Braves quarterback, Tim Buckley has been named the SWAC Offensive Player of the Week.  Buckley completed 25 of 40 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns.  He also rushed for 52 yards on 18 carries and one touchdown.

On Buckley being named Offensive Player of the Week, Head Coach Collins stated “It is a great honor for Tim.”

“Buckley has the potential to be the best player in conference.  We just have to continue to do the things that we need to do to showcase Buckley’s talents,” said Collins.

Buckley is a native of Jackson, Mississippi and is a Biology/Physical Therapy major.

Also for his performance against Southern University, Buckley has been nominated for the Heritage Sports Radio Network National Player of the Week for Week 5.  To vote, fans can log in to HSRN.com home page (Fan Poll).  Voting will end on Tuesday at 6 pm (CST).
