Frost Records Career-High 39 Points, Lady Braves Pick Up Huge Road Win

Box Score Grambling, La. - Senior Tierro Frost made 14-of-24 shots from the field, was 2-for-2 from behind the arc, and was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line en route to notching a career-high 39 points 10 rebounds, and seven assists in the Lady Braves one-point victory over Grambling 78-77.

The Lady Braves fell behind 11-4 early with less than five minutes into the first half.

But the Lady Braves quickly battled back into the game going a 15-3 run to take a 17-11 lead on a jumper by Ashtin McNichols with with 10:58 to go in the first half.

McNichols and T. Frost both caught fire from there scoring the next eight points to extend the Lady Braves lead to 24-15 with 7:45 to play in the first half.

Grambling's Joanna Miller went 6-for-6 from the charity stripe in the last few minutes of the half to cut into the Lady Braves lead 32-28.

With .20 seconds left in the first half, Grambling's Tyler Anderson made a layup and the Lady Braves headed to the locker room with a 32-30 lead.

Miller came out firing away after the break, scoring seven of Grambling's 11 points to take a five-point lead, 43-38 with less than two minutes into the second half.

The Lady Braves wouldn't lay down that easy tying the game four minutes later on a pair of made free throws by Angelica Wilson-Reid.

Exactly two seconds later, T. Frost made a layup to regain the lead for the Lady Braves, 50-48 with 13:10 to play.

Twin sister Kierro Frost would get into the actioin scoring four consecutive points to increase the Lady Braves lead to 54-50 at the 12:16 mark.

But Miller went to work again on the Lady Braves hitting two three-pointers to retake the lead 61-56 with 7:38 to play.

T. Frost answered Miller's challenge and scored 11 straight points to keep the Lady Braves in the game down four, 71-67 with 1:22 to go.

A put back by Grambling's Victoya Ricks increased the Lady Tigers lead to five, 76-71 with 1:12 left in the game.

A layup by Anastasia Tuset closed the gap to 76-73 with .59 seconds to play and T. Frost makes a free throw to cut the lead to two, 76-74.

After Grambling's Dennisha Chambers went 1-for-2 from the free throw line, McNichols hits a jumper to cut the lead to one, 77-76 with .16 seconds left.

Miller lost the ball in the final seconds and the ball ended up in T. Frost's hand with .09 seconds left on the clock. T. Frost missed the layup but twin sister K. Frost was right there for the putback to give the Lady Braves the win.

McNichols scored 16 points and K. Frost added 12 points for the Lady Braves (6-16, 5-6).

Miller finished the game with 35 points while Chambers chipped in 12 points and Ricks added 10 points.

The Lady Braves are back in action this Saturday as they travel to Greenville to face the Lady Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 P.M.
