Braves Scouting Report: Edward Waters

What to Watch for this Saturday…

• The 2013 season marks the 92^nd season of football in Alcorn State history and the second under Head Coach Jay Hopson.
• The Braves are 33-34 in home openers since 1946. The Braves season openers from 1921 to 1945 are unknown at this present time.
• The Braves return 50 letterman lose 29 letterman from last years' 4-7 team
• This Saturday's matchup is the second ever meeting between the Braves and Edward Waters. The Braves defeated Edward Waters 60-0 in 1950 en route to a SCAC conference championship.
• Braves Head Coach, Jay Hopson (4-7, 2 yr.) and Edward Waters Head Coach, Brad Bernard (11-11, 3 yr.) meet for the first time in their perspective careers.
• Sophomore John Gibbs, Jr. will get the start at quarterback after a productive 2013 Season. This weekend will mark Gibbs' ninth straight career stats.
• Senior running back Arnold Walker is 211 yards away from cracking the Top 10 career rushing leaders in Alcorn history.
