Monticello, Fla.-Yesterday, women's track and field signee,
Samiria Martin, was honored by her hometown in Monticello, FL with a “Key to the City.” Martin is the first female to ever receive this prestigious award.
Martin signed with the Lady Braves Track and Field team earlier this year. She attended Jefferson County High School in Monticello. She is a 4-time regional champion in the shot put and a 4-time district champion in the discus. She also won the 2012 1A State title in the shot put and was the runner-up in the event in 2013. She's thrown a personal best of 39-3 in the shot put and 114-5 in the discus.
