Green Bay, Wis.-Former Alcorn State wide receiver, Donald Driver was honored Saturday afternoon by the Green Bay Packers organization for his dedication and success as a player for 14 seasons. The Packers organization unveiled a statue and a street named after him entitled, “Donald Driver Way” between the intersection of the former Pearl Street and Dousman Street which is across the street from Lambeau Field.
Driver put a stamp on his career earlier this year on January 31, 2013. He capped off an amazing career with 735 receptions and 10,060 yards (he leads in both categories in Green Bay Packers history). He also finished with 59 touchdowns.
Driver is known for his contributions off the field as well. He and his wife Betina started the “Donald Driver Foundation” in 2001. He is also the author of three books and the winner of “Dancing with the Stars” with dancing partner Peta Murgatroyd in 2012.
