Jasmine Ducre had the fans at Tad Gormley Stadium on their feet when she crossed the finish line this afternoon in the 100m dash. Ducre, the only freshman in the final, ran a personal best time of 11.90 to take home the gold and rack up 10 points for her team.
Earlier, Ducre placed 5th in the triple jump with a mark of 38-08 and was a member of the 3rd place 4x100m relay team which also consisted of sophomores
Porche Robinson and
Britje Montgomery and junior
Jessica Jelks. The relay team ran a season best time of 46.53 to take the bronze medal.
Other top performances on the women's side, sophomore
Fanequa Larry jumped a personal best 38-09 in the triple jump placing 4th in the event. Larry also placed 8th in the high jump with a jump of 4-08.
On the men's side,
Trevee Kelly placed 3rd in the 800m run with a time of 1:53.23. Freshman
Darryl Jones continued his outstanding weekend scoring in the pole vault and the triple jump. Jones placed 6th in the pole vault and the triple jump with a personal best mark of 10-04 and 47-00, respectively.
The men's team finish the weekend in 9th place 21 points and the women placed 8th with 32.33 points.
