Lorman, Miss.-Tons of excitement and energy stepped on the practice field as second year head coach
Jay Hopson and his Braves football team begin spring practice this afternoon.
After a 4-6 season in 2012, the Braves couldn't wait to strap up and prepare for the 2013 season.
Key players to watch in the spring are quarterback
John Gibbs, wide receivers
Tavoris Doss and
LaDarrien Davis, and defensive back
Devon Francois.
The Braves and the coaching staff were very excited about today's first practice and are ecstatic about how the players reacted since the last game in November against rival Jackson State.
Coach Hopson had this to say about the first day of spring practice:
"Our guys came out here today with great energy and a lot of enthusiasm!" We looked good on techniques and drills but we definitely have plenty of room for improvement. The offensive line is an area where we need the most work but in due time we plan to be very effective once the season begins.
The Braves 2013 Spring Game is set for April 20 at Jack Spinks Stadium. Time to be announced later.
